Another unexpected outcome opened the fourth day of the 2022 World Cup as Morocco and Croatia were able to draw 0-0. Morocco performed a fantastic game in the Al Bayt Stadium in Doha, earning a well-deserved victory. They also had a lot of support from the crowd. Ivan Perisic might have given Croatia a better start, but Morocco found a way to stop Croatia from capitalizing on their advantage and played strong defense on their right side to neutralize Croatia’s left.
It was possible for Achraf Hakimi and Hakim Ziyech to score the game’s opening goal, but Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic was always alert and twice kept his team in front in the second half. Morocco should be proud of their performance because they are now in the running to advance to the next round.
Croatia and Morocco currently share the lead in the group stage with one point each, while Belgium and Canada will play their World Cup opener later on Wednesday. At 8 a.m. ET on Sunday, Morocco will take on Belgium, and at 11 a.m. ET, Croatia will play Canada.
